5 Easy Ways to Make Your Wix Website Look Professional in 2026

If you want your business to be taken seriously online, your website needs to look the part. The difference between a "DIY" site and a professional one often comes down to small, high-impact details that are easy to overlook.

In my latest tutorial, I share five low-effort, high-impact changes you can make to your Wix site to give it a polished, professional edge.

1. Don't Forget the Favicon

A favicon is the small icon that appears in a browser tab next to your website's title. It’s a tiny detail, but it’s one of the first things people notice if it’s missing or still showing the default Wix logo.

  • Pro Tip: Keep it simple! Use a small part of your logo or a single letter from your brand name. I recommend a square format of about 48x48 pixels for the best result.

2. Set Your Social Share Image

Have you ever sent a link to your site and a "weird" or random image popped up in the text message or social post? You can fix this in your dashboard settings by choosing a specific Social Share Image.

  • Choose a general image that represents your brand—like your logo or a professional brand photo—and stick to a square or landscape orientation.

3. Clean Up Your URL Slugs

If you’ve duplicated pages while building your site, you might have URLs like yoursite.com/copy-of-home or yoursite.com/about-5. These "messy" URLs can make a site look unfinished.

  • Hop into your SEO Basics settings for each page and ensure the "URL slug" matches the page name. It’s a simple step that adds a huge level of polish.

4. Optimize for Mobile (and Add a "Back to Top" Button)

Most people will see your site on their phone first. Beyond just making sure your text and images look right, you should focus on user convenience.

  • Convenience Hack: If you have long pages, add a "Back to Top" button in the mobile editor. It makes navigation effortless for your visitors.

5. Update Your Footer

Your footer appears on every page, so it needs to be accurate.

  • The Copyright Rule: Make sure your copyright year is up-to-date. An outdated year can make it look like you’re no longer in business!

  • Include your social icons and any pertinent information (like a newsletter sign-up) to save your visitors time.
